Albany Village is nestled in the bush clad hills and originally sprung up at the base of the Lucas Creek waterfall. Shallow bottom scows navigated their way up the Lucas Creek from downtown Auckland where the cargo was transferred to carts with fresh horses to begin their trek northwards.
